Trevor Nigel Lawrence is a wellness advocate, cannabis industry pioneer, and founder of Healing Journey for Black Men, a platform dedicated to empowering Black men to take control of their health. Born in Guyana, South America, Trevor grew up in a culture that revered natural remedies, shaping his lifelong belief in the healing power of plants. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1974, he built a decades-long career in behavioral health, where he witnessed the limitations of traditional healthcare and the potential of alternative therapies.

In 2016, Trevor transitioned into the cannabis industry, focusing on wellness and medicinal applications. By 2021, he had secured a manufacturing license, creating solventless, chemical-free cannabis products. Despite challenges in the industry, Trevor pivoted to consulting and curating events, continuing to advocate for plant-based healing.

A personal health crisis in 2024 became a turning point. Faced with a potential prostate cancer diagnosis, Trevor refused to accept it as his fate. He embraced a Whole Food Plant-Based Lifestyle, overcoming a sugar addiction and experiencing profound physical and emotional healing. This transformation inspired him to create Healing Journey for Black Men, a safe space for Black men to share their health journeys, educate one another, and inspire collective healing.

Through his platform, Trevor emphasizes the power of plant-based nutrition to prevent, reverse, or eliminate chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. He challenges the over-reliance on misleading medical tests and advocates for addressing root causes rather than symptoms. Trevor’s mission is to empower Black men to take autonomy over their health, heal their families, and strengthen their communities.

Trevor’s story is one of resilience, transformation, and unwavering commitment to holistic wellness. As he often says, “Healing is not just about the body—it’s about the mind, the spirit, and the community. When we heal ourselves, we heal the world.”
